Setup & Placement

1

Charge the battery

Before first use, fully charge your AT2 using the included USB cable. Connect it to any USB power source (wall adapter, laptop, power bank). A full charge typically takes 2–3 hours. The LED will change colour when charging is complete.
2

Activate your subscription

Before the AT2 can transmit location data, you need an active subscription. Visit shieldgps.co/activate and complete the registration steps using the IMEI printed on the device packaging.
3

Power on the device

Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes. The AT2 will begin searching for GPS signal and connecting to the 4G network.
4

Choose your placement location

Use the strong built-in magnet to attach the AT2 to any metal surface on your vehicle or asset. Common hidden locations include underneath the vehicle chassis, inside a wheel arch, behind a metal panel, or inside the boot/trunk near a metal floor plate.
5

Attach the device

Press the AT2 firmly against the metal surface — the magnet will hold it securely. Give it a light tug to confirm it won’t come loose during movement. For extra security on rough terrain, you can secure it further with cable ties or adhesive pads.
6

Verify tracking in the app

Open the ShieldGPS app and confirm the AT2 is showing a live location on the map. Updates arrive every 10 seconds when the device is in motion.

Powering On & First Use

Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the AT2 on. On first use, allow up to 2 minutes outdoors (or in an area with clear sky visibility) for the device to:
  1. Acquire a GPS fix
  2. Connect to the 4G network
  3. Begin transmitting to the ShieldGPS platform
To power off, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds until the LED turns off.
