Your device’s IMEI number is a unique 15-digit identifier that ShieldGPS uses to register, activate, and manage your tracker. You will need it when activating a new device, making changes to your subscription, or contacting the support team. Keep it somewhere safe so you always have it to hand.

Where to Find Your IMEI

Your IMEI number is printed on the box your tracker arrived in, either directly on the cardboard or on a sticker attached to the outer packaging. Check the barcode label area — the 15-digit IMEI is usually listed alongside the serial number and product name. Do not discard your packaging until you have noted the IMEI somewhere safe.
Open the ShieldGPS iOS or Android app and log in to your account. Tap your device’s name in the device list to open its detail view, then navigate to Settings or Device Info. Your 15-digit IMEI number is displayed on that screen. This is the quickest way to retrieve your IMEI if the tracker is already activated and online.
Many ShieldGPS models have a small label printed directly on the tracker hardware. Look for a sticker on the underside or side of the unit that lists the IMEI alongside a barcode. The exact position varies by model — check the G1C, OB22, FMT100, and other hard-wired models in particular, as these commonly carry a label on the casing.

Why You Need Your IMEI

Your IMEI is required in a number of situations:
  • Activation — you enter the IMEI when registering a new device at shieldgps.co/activate.
  • Subscription changes — the support team uses your IMEI to locate the correct subscription when you reactivate, upgrade, or cancel a plan.
  • Support requests — always include your IMEI when emailing support@shieldgps.co so the team can identify your device instantly and resolve your query faster.
Save your IMEI number in a notes app, a password manager, or even a photo of the packaging as soon as you receive your device. Having it ready means you can get help from the support team without needing to locate the physical box or navigate the app.

Can’t Find Your IMEI?

If you have checked all three locations above and still cannot locate your IMEI number, email support@shieldgps.co with your order confirmation details — including your name and order number. The team will use your purchase records to identify your device and provide the IMEI for you.
